The hot zone is the area directly above your cooker or hob. This is the space that gets hot when you cook on your hob. We recommend leaving at least 75cm of space between your hob and the cooker hood to protect your appliances, fixtures and fittings. Also, this area needs to be free from any flammable items such as wood, wallpaper, plug sockets, wiring or an overhanding boiler.
